First Take: Bennett was made for the sports town of Philadelphia

10 March 2018 Eagles News

After news of the Eagles-Seahawks trade for DE Michael Bennett, Stephen A. Smith went on ESPN’s First Take and stated that Eagles are “clearly the team to beat” and “are not resting on their laurels.”

Smith went on to say “you look at this Eagles teams and this Eagles move, they are clearly getting set to defend their crown.”

After working in Philadelphia during the early part of Smith’s career, he believes Bennett will be embraced by the Philadelphia fan base. “He is tailor made for that town,” Smith said.
