After Week 10, We Will Know The Real Eagles

27 October 2020 Uncategorized

The Philadelphia Eagles are sitting at 2-4-1 and in 1st place in the NFC East. Yes, you read that correctly. With the NFC East being such a disaster, the Eagles are in sole possession of 1st place and it doesn’t look like they will have much competition going forward.

The Eagles will have the benefit of playing the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants in their next two games, with a bye mixed in between those games. The Eagles have to take advantage of their next two games if they want any chance of running away with this division.

The Eagles will play the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football this week, in a game they are already set to be big favorites. According to Sports Betting Dime, the Eagles opened up as 7.5 point favorites over Dallas. The Cowboys have been devastated by injuries this season, as QB Dak Prescott and four of their starting offensive lineman are on long term IR. The Cowboys defense is on a historic pace, and not in a good way. They have given up more than 30 points in six straight games, and show no signs of improving.

The New York Giants almost pulled off the upset against the Eagles on Thursday Night. The Giants defense has kept this team from falling off a cliff, as they quitley have the 19th ranked DVOA defense in the NFL. Without Saquon Barkley, it’s tough to see this team making any noise in the NFC East. The Giants still have to play the Browns, Buccaneers, Seahawks, Cardinals and Ravens, and it’s tough to see them beating anyone outside Washington and Dallas.

The Washington Football Club is the Eagles biggest competition in the NFC East. They had a big win against the Cowboys this week, however they lack play makers on offense. Terry McLaurin and Antonio Gibson are their best play makers on offense, and they both have had slow starts this season.

When you look at the NFC East in a vacuum, it’s clear the Eagles are the best team left. Carson Wentz is the best QB in the division, and has been playing better football as of late. These next three weeks will be very important for this team. If they can beat the Cowboys and Giants, and get healthy during the bye week, they will be sitting at 4-4-1 and in the driver seat. We are about to find out who the Philadelphia Eagles are in the next three weeks.
