The Road to Victory: 3 Things to Watch For Tonight vs. Giants

22 October 2020 Uncategorized

The Philadelphia Eagles are taking on the New York Giants tonight on Thursday Night Football. Sitting at 1-4-1, it’s easy to say this is a must win game for the Eagles. But, if there’s one thing we want to see, it’s a complete game from the Birds. With that being said, if the Eagles are to win, here’s what needs to happen.

  1. 2017 Carson Wentz

The Eagles are injured, they’re bruised and they’re not the best team right now. However, their franchise quarterback is playing at a high level at the moment. He’s PFFs ninth best quarterback right now, he’s using his legs a ton and he’s making plays. Against a much weaker defense than he faced the last two games, Wentz needs to demonstrate what he’s been doing the last two weeks. If he does so, he’ll have a big game.

            2. Defensive pressure

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has a turnover in every game this season. If the Eagles get pressure, he’s going to give them opportunities to take the ball away. The Eagles currently sit at a -7 turnover differential and when it’s that high, it’s hard to win football games. It’s time to get back on track and lower that number.

           3. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it

Eagles wide receiver Travis Fulgham has accumulated 18 receptions for 284 yards and three touchdowns in his last three games. He’s exceeded his expectations by a ton and he’s on track for a huge season while missing the first three games. The Giants have the 17th best passing defense, there’s going to be plenty of opportunities for Fulgham to catch the ball. He’s Wentz’s go to guy and the past three weeks have shown us, he’ll produce big plays when he’s thrown to. Feed him tonight.

The road to victory hasn’t been easy this season by any means. Today, the Eagles match up well versus the Giants and they’ll have all the chances to win. Everything is in front of them tonight. Fly Eagles Fly.
