3 Things to Know following the Eagles first padded practice

17 August 2020 Uncategorized

Today, the Philadelphia Eagles hit the practice field with their pads on for the first time this offseason.

The excitement of Eagles football is back in the air. There’s a lot of things to cover, but we’re going to keep it short. Here’s three things to know following today’s practice.

1. The injury bug doesn’t hesitate to strike

Even before Javon Hargrave and Derek Barnett hit the field, they’ve already been dealt some tough blows. They both have significant injuries and will miss time. For Hargrave, his is expected to be worse and he’ll miss multiple weeks where as Barnett is expected to be week to week.

2. Jalen Reagor shows off his playmaking ability

The first round draft pick has been a big talking point all offseason and today he hit the field for the first time. And, he did not disappoint. He made some big plays and had great timing with Carson Wentz. The big thing here is how sure his hands are and how fluid his route running is. He lined up with the first string wide receivers and he looks set to have a big impact this season.

3. The starting cornerbacks

Last season, the Eagles cornerbacks were a big problem. This season, they look completely different. Lining up with the first team defense was Darius Slay, Avonte Maddox and Nickell Robey-Coleman. Leaving Sidney Jones, Rasul Douglas and Cre’Von LeBlanc as the second string. Not only is their depth but there’s quality depth. The Eagles have done a complete 180 from last season at the position.

Stay tuned to 4thandJawn for all the information as training camp gears up and the season moves closer.
