Trade Alert: The Eagles have acquired DE Eli Harold from the Bills

9 August 2019 Uncategorized

The Philadelphia Eagles have made a trade, I repeat, the Eagles have made a trade.

The Eagles have sent offensive tackle Ryan Bates to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for defensive end Eli Harold.

The former third round pick has bounced around the league, never really finding a steady place to play. He’s been played at outside linebacker and defensive end. With the Eagles in a 4-3 defense, he’ll likely be depth at defensive end.

Harold was also a starting linebacker for the 49ers (who drafted him in 2015) in 2016 and 2017. In those season he made 24 starts and racked up 71 tackles and five sacks. He then moved to the Detroit Lions where he had a career high, four sacks in 13 games. He then went onto the Bills.

He still has to make the team, but he has a ton of potential. The Eagles need to solidify their defensive end rotation and Harold could find a role in that rotation come September
