Report: Eagles CB Jalen Mills will start training camp on PUP list

25 July 2019 Uncategorized

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Jalen Mills will start Eagles training camp on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list per Jimmy Kempski of the Philadelphia Inquirer. In Kempski’s article he goes on to say, While Mills certainly could miss the start of the Eagles’ regular season, being placed on the PUP list prior to the start of camp does not necessarily mean that he will.”

The PUP list cannot be applied to a player after the start of training camp, that explains why he’s a candidate now. Mills missed most of last season with a foot injury and is recovering from a surgery. There’s no saying if he’ll miss the whole training camp, but we know he’ll likely miss the first week or so.

With Mills still out, other cornerbacks have the opportunity to prove themselves. Guys like Rasul Douglas, Avonte Maddox and Sidney Jones are going to get looks in his spot. Every time you’re out, it’s an opportunity for someone else. At this point, we really don’t know where Mills stands with the Eagles in terms of playing time and roster spot but it’s definitely something to look into this training camp.
