Roster Move: Eagles add former Redskins LB Zach Brown

3 May 2019 Uncategorized

The Eagles continue to make very smart moves this offseason.

Announced this morning, the Eagles have signed former Washington Redskins linebacker Zach Brown. Brown had been a thorn in the Eagles side for years. But now, he jumps up interstate 95 to join them.

The deal is just a one year deal worth $3 million with $1.5 million guaranteed. Just a small sum for a players who’s definitely going to produce.

In his seven seasons in the league, Brown amounted 631 tackles, 17.5 sacks and seven interceptions. He’s a tackling machine and one who makes a big presence in the middle of the field. He will have no problem sliding right into the Eagles defense.

When you looked at the Eagles defense, there was one clear need left to fill and that was linebacker. Adding Brown fills that need in a very big way. He’s a linebacker that hasn’t gotten the recognition he deserved. With the Eagles not only will he help their defense rise up, he’ll personally thrive in their system. It’s a good fit for both the Eagles and Brown.

In the end, the Eagles used free agency very smartly. Signing a very good veteran with still so much to prove is always a good deal. This was a great move by the team.
