Five important players in tonight’s game vs. Cowboys

The Eagles take on their rivals tonight, the Dallas Cowboys, in a game which is actually pretty important for both sides. A win for the Eagles will keep momentum going and will ultimately end the Cowboys season. If the Eagles are to win, here’s five players who need to perform for the team.
1. Lane Johnson
He’s coming into this game a little beat up, but with that being said, he’s committing himself to the cause. There’s no time to dwell on the injury now, he’s in. Tonight he’ll line up across from one of the league’s better pass rushers Demarcus Lawrence. Johnson has to keep quarterback Carson Wentz safe and by him some time. Healthy or not, he has a tough task ahead of him and he needs to make sure he has a good game.
2. Rasul Douglas
The young cornerback is going to get the start tonight with both Jalen Mills and Sidney Jones out. Douglas has been very impressive when he’s been on the field this season, but under the lights against a division rival is a different kind of game. For Douglas, he’s going to be in a unique environment and he must not let it get the best of him. The Cowboys’ wide receivers shouldn’t pose to many threats, Douglas needs to just play his game and he’ll be fine.
3. Fletcher Cox
The only way the Cowboys have any success is if they get their run game going. Now, watching the Cowboys, you know they like to run frequently and run up the middle. This is where Fletcher Cox comes into play because he always does a nice job closing down the middle. He’ll play a big part tonight because he’ll force running back Ezekiel Elliott into different gaps. Behind Cox, the Eagles can really derail any running game the Cowboys have.
4. Wendell Smallwood
Speaking of run games, the Eagles need to get their’s going. Behind Wendell Smallwood, they’ve had success. He’s done well this season and has looked to best of all the Eagles’ running backs so far. The Eagles need to by Wentz some tome and they can do so by establishing a rushing attack. Smallwood could have a big breaking out party tonight on Sunday Night football. If he does get going, the Cowboys will be at an uphill battle trying to stop the Eagles offense.
5. Brandon Graham
Graham hasn’t been playing the best football and tonight’s game poses him a chance to get on the board with a sack as well as have a big impact on the game. For one, the defensive ends both need to set the edge and not let the Cowboys run outside. That’s going to be important and secondly, Graham’s been really affective against the Cowboys in the past. Against a familiar foe, Graham needs to show us the Graham of old and hit the quarterback.
Behind these five players, the Eagles can win. Of course, it’s a big collective effort, but these five players will have important roles in tonight’s game versus the Cowboys.
