Road to victory: A few players carried the way as the Eagles beat the Jaguars 24-18

The Eagles capped off a successful trip to London with a 24-18 win over theJacksonville Jaguars.

Carson Wentz played as good of a game as a quarterback could play, throwing three touchdowns to three different wide receivers. The first one was to tight end Dallas Goedert, and the other two were to running back Wendell Smallwood and Zach Ertz.

The Eagles defense did their part holding the Jaguars to just 18 points and forcing two fumbles. It was another solid performance capped off nicely with a stout offensive performance that was good enough for the win.

Three players who showed up for the Eagles were Avonte Maddox,Josh Adams and Jordan Matthews. Matthews led the Eagles in receiving with 93 yards. Adams led the Eagles in rushing with 61 yards. And, Maddox played a huge role in one of the Eagles forced fumbles as well as making a few big key tackles.

Having these players step up definitely carried the way for the Eagles. The Eagles were built on players stepping in for the starters seemlessly last season and these three looked like starters today. For Matthews and Adams especially, they were huge today. Maddox has been able to string together a few big games at safety since McLeod was ruled out for the season.

Going into the bye week with a win is huge. This team seems to be gaining more momentum as the weeks go by. They weren’t seeing results, but hopefully this will be the turning point in the season. After a full performance like what we saw versus the Jaguars, the Eagles seem poise to make a run and string a few wins together.
