Well, this caught everyone off guard.
Newly acquired defensive end Michael Bennett was indicted on a felony charge for injuring a 66 year old paraplegic working at NRG stadium during Super Bowl LI.
District Attorney of Harris
County, Texas announced it has indicted Eagles’ DE Michael Bennett for felony charge for injuring a 66-year-old paraplegic working at NRG Stadium to control access to field at SuperBowl LI. A warrant has been issued for Bennett’s arrest.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 23, 2018
Bennett was making his way to the field to celebrate and shoved the security guard out of the way from my understanding.
A warrant has been issued for Bennett’s arrest and we will see where this goes from there. The charge is intentionally and knowingly, causing bodily injury to a person 65 years or older. It carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
We will see what comes out of all of this so stay tuned for more updates on the situation.
