Press conference takeaway: Michael Bennett put the whole NFC East on notice
19 March 2018 Eagles News
What a way to introduce yourself to the City of Philadelphia Michael Bennett.
Today, Michael Bennett spoke for the first time as an Eagle in front of the media. To say he said a hot take or two is an understatement, Bennett came with the heat today.
Michael Bennett says he thinks the Eagles can have one of the greatest defensive lines to ever play. Compared the DL to the Golden State Warriors.

But, that quote was not even the best one, he called out every quarterback in the NFC East as well.
“I know Eli Manning is probably watching this and thinking, like, yes I’m coming,” said Bennett, whom the Eagles acquired in a trade with the Seahawks. “I know Dak is watching this like, ‘Yeah, he’s coming.’ Yeah, I am, and Alex Smith, he knows he can’t run from me. I told him at the Pro Bowl.”
This is what you want to hear from your newly acquired player. Some people do not like having a player unspoken like that or someone who comes off as cocky, but honestly, it is great. People underestimate mind games in sports and Bennett is already getting in the heads of the opposing quarterbacks.
He is up for the challenge and will do his best to help the Eagles repeat as champions. From this press conference you can tell his is up for it, he has the right attitude and he is ready for the NFC East. We all did not know what to expect when the Eagles got Bennett, but if this press conference is any indication, he stay in Philadelphia is going to be epic.
