The Eagles need to lean on their rushing attack today vs. Giants

17 December 2017 Eagles News

Today, with a new quarterback playing for the Eagles, the Eagles need to find ways to make the game simpler for him. And, what a better way to do so than to use their rushing attack.

The New York Giants possess the 28th ranked run defense in the NFL, allowing over 130 yards against a game. The Giants are a bad football team that has struggled to defend even the worst of teams. With that being said, the Eagles have the second-best rushing attack, averaging 143 yards a game. Let’s be honest, the Eagles have not seemed that dominant on the ground.

But, the Eagles do have four very unique running backs. Their rushing success is partly due to the fact that all three runners get around 50 yards of rushing a game. However, there has not been one running back who has been able to dominate the rest and get the bulk of carries, the Eagles are comfortable using all three instead.

Today, the Eagles will have the chance to unleash their best-hidden secret on the Giants and completely dominate them on the ground. Jay Ajayi is starting to hit his stride, watch out for him today. And, if the Giants stop him, the Eagles have LeGarrette Blount and Corey Clement waiting in his footsteps.

This season, the focus has really been on Carson Wentz and the magic he has been able to produce, but with a running back group as good as the Eagles, they need to unleash it today as it will surely take a lot of pressure off of Nick Foles.
