Eagles players to watch today vs. Redskins

10 September 2017 Eagles News

The Eagles are in Washington today, taking on the Redskins. It is an hour away from game time and with that being said, here are the three players you should be watching today for the Eagles.

1. Jaylen Watkins/Corey Graham

The Eagles have only three cornerbacks activated today, which probably means that Jaylen Watkins and Corey Graham will get extensive looks at cornerback. This preseason, we saw Watkins get a good look at this position and he played very well. Today, Watkins will have to step up in order for the Eagles to have success in the secondary. Although he will not be starting, a lot is expected of Watkins today. Same with Corey Graham. Expect him to help the Eagles out in coverage today. The Eagles need him to play at a high-level today. If the Eagles are to win today, these cornerbacks need to have a good game.

2. Wendell Smallwood

Reports today indicate that the Eagles will heavily involve Wendell Smallwood in their offense today. We already know that the Eagles do like to rotate at this position, however, if Smallwood gets the hot hand, expect the Eagles to stick with him. It is crucial to the success of the Eagles that they get a consistent run game going. And, Smallwood might just be their best all-around running back. He looks the part, now he needs to perform today versus the Redskins.

3. Alshon Jeffery

Being his first game as an Eagle, Alshon Jeffery will look to start his career off with a bang. This season is a prove it year for Jeffery and expect him to prove himself to the Eagles today.Jeffery will have a tough task against him, as Josh Norman is expected to follow him. However, Jeffery has dominated Norman in years past, so look for Jeffery today.
