CB Patrick Robinson on Tuesday’s practice: “I had a terrible day”

1 August 2017 Eagles News

PHILADELPHIA–Eagles CB Patrick Robinson noted after practice that he had a “terrible day” after Tuesday’s practice.

The veteran corner has been struggling as of late and has strung together a couple of bad practices. Robinson also added that his performance was unacceptable and vows to get better. During the off season, Robinson was brought in to to compete for the starting CB job opposite of CB Jalen Mills, but so far he has underwhelmed.

Perhaps, Robinson is still trying to find his groove after missing most of last season with multiple injuries. The nine-year-corner dealt with concussions as well as hip, knee, and groin issues. While he has had his share in the past, Robinson’s 2016 season was his toughest year dealing with injuries.

With that being said, the Eagles cannot afford to wait too long for him to get his game going. Right now, the Eagles corner back situation is just as bad as last season, with some arguing that it may be worse. The Eagles may have to rely on their youth at the position to hold down the fort in CBs Jalen Mills and Rasul Douglas, with second round rookie Sidney Jones waiting in the bullpen for the 2018 season.

I’m pretty sure as I type, Howie Roseman and the front office are working the phones looking for another veteran cornerback to add to the mix. Moving forward, going into the 2017 season with this group as it is, is asking for trouble.
