Eagles TE Trey Burton signs one-year offer sheet
3 April 2017 Eagles News
Earlier this offseason, the Eagles placed a second-round tender on Trey Burton, meaning, if a team wanted to sign him they would have to give the Eagles a second-round pick. The Eagles did not want to lose Burton as an unrestricted free agent.
Today, Burton signed his one-year tender that will pay him $2.74 million this season.

Burton showed a lot of progress this past season and even more importantly, chemistry with Carson Wentz. Burton had a career year catching 37 passes for 327 yards and one touchdown. He was a major contributor towards the end of the season.Burton’s role on special teams should not go unnoticed, he is a key contributor on the unit as well. Expect him to improve and contribute on both units next season.
Burton is a good player to have in the building, he does everything for the team. Expect the Eagles and Burton to work out a long-term deal before next season when he becomes a restirced free agent and hits the makret.
