Eagles agree to one year deal with CB Patrick Robinson

28 March 2017 Eagles News

The Philadelphia Eagles have announced that they have signed CB Patrick Robinson to a one-year deal.

Robinson, was recently released by the Indianapolis Colts earlier this March, after signing a 3 year, 13.5 million dollar deal last season. Unfortunately, the 30-year old Robinson had a hard time staying on the field, as he only saw action in 7 games for the Colts, recording 26 tackles, five pass deflections and one forced fumble. Robinson was put on injury reserve in December after he was unable to rebound from his groin ailment.

The journeyman corner was actually a first round selection (32 overall) for the New Orleans Saints in 2010. After spending 5 seasons with the Saints, Robinson had two one-year stints in San Diego and Indianapolis.

With the Birds still in need of corners through the draft, Patrick Robinson fits the “band-aid” category for the moment. The Eagles eventually needed a veteran corner to join the mix and Robinson will have a shot to compete for a starting job.
