Birds sign former chiefs QB Aaron Murray to practice squad

14 September 2016 Eagles News

The Inquirer’s Zach Berman reports that the Philadelphia Eagles have added former Chiefs QB,Aaron Murray, to the practice squad.

The 25-year-old Murray, was 2014 a fourth-round selection by the Chiefs. Murray has two NFL seasons under his belt, and has worked closely with HC Coach Pederson, and is familiar with the system the Eagles run. With the addition of Murray, the Birds have parted ways with UDFA WR Marcus Johnson.

In his short career, Murray hasn’t taken a NFL snap as of yet, but the big plus is that he’s had two quality seasons under Pederson’s watch. With the Eagles set with starter Carson Wentz, and Chase Daniel as a backup, Murray could find himself on the active roster if there was an injury to either two.
