Instant Reaction: Eagles fall in season finale 20-14

4 January 2021 Uncategorized

What a bizarre ending to the 2020/21 season for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles fall in their final home game to the Washington Football Team 20-14 in one of the weirder games you’ll have ever watched.

The game started off okay, fans were optimistic, however, some were pessimistic wanting a better draft pick. After falling behind early 10-0, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts ran in two touchdowns and the Eagles were only trailing Washington 17-14 at halftime.

The Eagles had a makeshift team due to all the players who were out, but they were making it work. It wasn’t pretty offensively, but the defense was playing well. They forced two turnovers on the night and made a lot of good plays.

Where things go dicey were when the Eagles elected to go for it on fourth down rather than tie the game with a field goal. Then, in the fourth quarter, they took out Jalen Hurts to get Nate Sudfeld some snaps. And, we all know they weren’t looking at Sudfeld for the future.

So, let’s talk about the future. Jason Kelce could’ve been in his last game, same with Zach Ertz. We’re going to see a new defensive coordinator and new offensive coaches with the team. They’re going to have high draft picks this season.

Other than that, their cap situation is sketchy and high and their franchise quarterback Carson Wentz wants out. Jalen Hurts looks good but he’s not paid like a franchise guy is. Things are going to get dicey this offseason from that respect.

To summarize this season all we can say is wow. There’s been up and downs before but this season went to a whole new level. In the worst division ever, the Eagles ended up the worst team and Wentz and Ertz their duo for the past three years might both be gone. It’s been crazy.

Now. It’s time to get into the offseason and try to fix this mess. Make sure to stay tuned to 4thandjawn as it’s bout to get crazy! Content is going to be insane!
