Game Preview: Eagles vs. Washington

3 January 2021 Uncategorized

Well, we’ve all endured this long and pretty brutal season together. We’ve made it through the struggles and this is it.

The Philadelphia Eagles are playing the Washington Football Team in a meaningful game for Washington and a pretty meaningless one for Philadelphia. And, to go along with the theme here, the Eagles are down about 11 starters in this game.

What to expect tonight?

Honestly, just going into this one with an open mind is the only thing you can do. For the Eagles, this might be the last time we see Zach Ertz, Jason Kelce, Vinny Curry and a bunch of other players in the midnight green. Carson Wentz is a healthy scratch and this could be his last time at the Linc as an Eagle.

Just try to enjoy this game and watch some of the young guys play. We’ll see lot of Jalen Hurts today even behind a offensive line with just Jason Kelce and Issac Seumalo left. The offensive line is going to struggle today as it did week one.

With that being noted, the Eagles have made it clear that Nate Sudfeld will see some time today and they’re ready to pull Hurts whenever, basically to save him. So, for the Giants fans hoping for a win, this might not be one worth watching.

This whole season has just been a disaster for the Eagles and this final game really sums it up. Half their team is hurt and on the IR, Jim Schwartz is coaching his last defensive game for the team and no one really knows what next year will look like. Usually, with a rookie quarterback the future is exciting and yes, Hurts has been exciting. But, the team around him has struggled and with their cap a mess, who knows how they’ll build.

And, the best part is, everyone who put them in this mess will be back next year. Let’s, not get too far ahead of ourselves, let’s enjoy what could be a few Eagles’ legends last game. You’d wish the Eagles didn’t put themselves in this spot but now all we can do is relax and watch some players fight for their jobs next season.
