Instant Reaction: Eagles fall to Packers, Hurts takes over for Wentz in loss

6 December 2020 Uncategorized

The Philadelphia Eagles have fallen to the Green Bay Packers 30-16, however, all might not be too bad in the land of Philly.

The future is up in the air, Jalen Hurts took over for Carson Wentz in the second half and sparked the Eagles. Down 23-3, Hurts took the Eagles down the field and scored a 32 yard touchdown on 4th and 18 to Greg Ward.

Then the next opportunity, wide receiver Jalen Reagor returned the punt for a touchdown after the defense held Green Bay to a three and out.

It was clear with Wentz in their the Eagles couldn’t get anything going. With Hurts there was a spark.

Here’s their stats.

Hurts also finished with 29 rushing yards.

Enough of the quarterback talk, let’s talk about the rest. Defensively, the Eagles had trouble defending the Packers attack. Their wide receivers were running wide open and Aaron Rodgers was having a field day. DeVante Adams had his way with Darius Slay going for 121 and two touchdowns on 10 receptions.

They didn’t play well enough to praise them, but they also didn’t do to bad as we all expected them to get picked apart.

Right now, there’s going to be a lot more breaking down to do. The bottom line is, the team looked better with Hurts, they played harder and actually showed a glimmer of promise. Going forward, no one can really say what’s going to happen. What’s your take?
