Here’s how Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery will impact today’s game vs. Giants

There’s going to be a new, yet familiar face back on the field for the Philadelphia Eagles today when they take on the New York Giants.

Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is back after almost missing a full season with a foot injury which required surgery. But, he’s back now and ready to contribute to an offense which needs more firepower.

When the Eagles lost Zach Ertz, they lost a target in the middle of the field. With the emergence of Travis Fulgham and rookie wide receiver Jalen Reagor, Jeffery could see a lot of snaps from the slot. His big body could cause menace for the Giants in the middle of the field.

There’s many ways the Eagles could use him, they can now get creative with a player like Reagor as well. Jeffery back in the lineup only makes the Eagles offense harder to defend.

A lot of people forget that Jeffery has been a solid option for the Eagles. In his last game before his injury, he caught 9 passes for 139 yards and one touchdown.

Here’s his 2019 receiving statistics

More than anything, he’s going to be a big help for the Eagles in the red zone. Since 2017, Jeffery has scored 17 touchdowns in the red zone. Only four players have more including teammate Zach Ertz.

For Carson Wentz, this couldn’t be a better time to get Jeffery back. He’s not playing his best football, so getting another reliable option back is going to go a long way for him. Today versus the Giants, you’re going to see Jeffery impact the game.

The Eagles are only getting healthier as this season goes on, which is rare for a team to do. A win today will do them a ton of good in their race for the division. With Jeffery back in the lineup, the Eagles have a good chance today.
