It’s going to the Greg Ward show for the Eagles tonight vs. 49ers

The next man up motto is one next man up and it’s one the Philadelphia Eagles know far too well. This Sunday night, the Eagles are down to just two active wide receivers, one being Greg Ward.
Ward is the ultimate underdog, next man up guy. His whole career up until this point has been a crazy whirlwind. And tonight, he’s the Eagles best and most reliable wide receiver.
Last, when Ward was called upon, he delivered. He was targeted 11 times and had 8 receptions for 72 yards and one touchdown. What became clear more than ever was Carson Wentz trusts Ward and they have a good connection.
Now, it’s obviously known the Eagles have to rely on him and with a good defense like the San Francisco 49ers ready to stop him, the Eagles are going to have to be creative in getting him open. Although they’re in different positions, week one Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins had 14 receptions.
The Eagles need Ward to have a big day. There’s no if’s, and’s or but’s about it. He’s their number one guy now and he has to produce. For the offense to move, 84 is going to have to have himself a day.
