Report: New Eagles DT Javon Hargrave out “multiple weeks” with an upper body injury

We don’t know the full extent of the injury but for the Philadelphia Eagles it would seem that injury bug they couldn’t shake last season is still present.
It’s just the first day of padded practice and excitement is in the air. But, all of that is squandered now because this isn’t the news you want to hear.
A few players aren’t present at practice today, but most notably is defensive tackle Javon Hargrave. According to Dave Spadaro, Hargrave is out “multiple weeks” with an upper body injury.
#Eagles will be cautious with injuries in early going, so day to day or even multiple week injuries may not be of great concern. But Javon Hargrave’s “upper body” injury of multiple weeks is of obvious concern. Was a key addition this offseason. DT depth has been an issue.

Obviously, the Eagles aren’t being specific so that could mean a bunch of things. However, after last season with wide receiver DeSean Jackson being listed week to week, naturally we can only speculate the worst.
With Hargrave out for a while, expect players like Hassan Ridgeway and Anthony Rush to advantage of the opportunity. Like forth noted, keep an eye on this space, we don’t know how bad he’s hurt, the Eagles make it seem sketchy though.
