Former Eagles WR Jason Avant back with Eagles… this time as a coach
29 July 2020 Eagles News
The Philadelphia Eagles are bringing in a familiar face for training camp.
This time it’s not bring back a player to play on the current team. Instead, it’s bringing back a former player to coach. Former Eagles wide receiver Jason Avant is joining the Eagles to help coach the wide receivers.

Avant will join the Eagles as part of the league’s Bill Walsh NFL Diversity Fellowship working with the wide receivers at the NovaCare Complex. This could end up being a great move by the Eagles to bring him in.
Known as a player who had the best hands in the game, Avant could teach the young wide receivers a lot. Like he notes, he wasn’t the fastest, but he got open and made a ton of plays.
For guys like JJ Archega-Whiteside, Greg Ward, Jalen Reagor, John Hightower and Quez Watkins, this could be exactly what they need. In this weird offseason, an experienced pro like Avant helping them can go a long way.
It’s going to be great seeing him around the building again. When it’s all said and done, this move could play a huge role for the Eagles.
