Things just got a lot interesting regarding the Philadelphia Eagles pursuit of defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.
According to a new report, the Eagles put in a contract offer for Clowney.
The @Eagles have put a deal in front of @clownejd …The @Seahawks want him back…BUT both deals are near what Clowney thought he was going to get…stay tuned!!

Earlier this week, there was a report saying Clowney is unlikely to go back to the Seattle Seahawks. Meaning, if it’s down to just there’s two teams, the Eagles would have to be in the drivers seat for Clowney. Both offers are in the same region, but we don’t know how long they are.
Clowney, 28, would be joining his third team if he were to choose to sign with the Eagles. Last season, statistically speaking, he had 31 total tackles, three sacks and one interception. However, he puts teams under constant pressure and he’s a force to deal with in the run game. He’s a disruptor and a huge problem for most offensive lines.
Adding Clowney to the Eagles gives their defensive line a huge boost. Putting him in a rotation with Brandon Graham and Derek Barnett would be a massive upgrade and power move by the Eagles. As long as this deal is short term, it’s a move the Eagles should make.
