Mock Draft Roundup: Charley Casserly has the Eagles trading up to 10 to take Oklahoma WR CeeDee Lamb in his final mock draft

23 April 2020 DRAFT

The day is here, it’s finally here. No one knows what the Philadelphia Eagles are going to do with their pick. And, in this mock draft, it has the Eagles getting Carson Wentz the wide receiver of the future.

Charley Casserly of NFL.com has the Eagles trading up to 10 with the Cleveland Browns to take Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

Here’s his reasoning for the move.

“Carson Wentz needs a target and trader Howie” gets his man.” “One thing that could prevent Howie from getting his man? If Cleveland ends up being the landing spot for disgruntled Redskins OT Trent Williams. If that comes to fruition, I think the Browns could stay at No. 10 and end up with Lamb on their roster, reuniting the talented receiver with fellow Sooner Baker Mayfield.”

Obviously, we don’t know the trade details as he’s just speculating, but I’d imagine a 2nd round pick this year could be involved. Trading up, the Eagles are going to have to sacrifice some, but for a player of Lamb’s quality, it could be worth it.

At Oklahoma, Lamb was a star. He constantly made play after play, every single Saturday. He racked up 3,292 yards and 32 touchdowns with 173 receptions. He’s a touchdown machine, a big play machine and he’s a player who could really thrive with Wentz.

Obviously, it’s going to be a hard call for the Eagles who know it’s a deep wide receiver class and a player like KJ Hamler and Jalen Reagor could be a Day two option for them. However, players like Lamb do not come around often.

With the Eagles and Howie Roseman, he’s not going to force it. He’s going to take a deal if it’s not too damaging. Obviously, Lamb is really good, but for future success, they’re going to need to fill more holes as the years go on. You just can’t picture Roseman putting the Eagles in a weird spot for the next few years for a wide receiver.

But, if the deal was right, Roseman will pull the trigger. The idea of a Lamb and Wentz duo is something very very very easy on the eyes. Stay tuned to 4thandJawn for all the draft coverage. Make sure to tune into the livestream tonight as well.
