Report: Eagles “aggressively pursuing a trade up” in hopes to draft WR CeeDee Lamb

15 April 2020 DRAFT

With the NFL Draft just around the corner, rumors are heating up. And, this latest rumor is a very intriguing one.

According to this rumor, the Philadelphia Eagles are aggressively trying to trade up for Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

Sitting at 21, the Eagles would have to do some work in order to get up to get him. He’s definitely a top 15 contender, so they’ll have to trade up, at the very least, six spots.

The rumor indicates that Eagles general manager Howie Roseman loves Lamb. And, how could you not? He’s a player who’s considered up of the elite wide receiver prospects of not just this season, but for the last few.

Last season, Lamb impressed everyone who watched him on the way for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was a big time playmaker who displayed an elite catching ability.

Here’s a scouting report on Lamb from NFL.com.

“Explosive, three-level playmaker and vital cog in one of the most potent offensive machines in college football over the last three seasons. Lamb uses speed and separation quickness to dominate competition in a scheme that frequently created open throws in space. His routes will need to become more efficient and crisp to beat man-to-man coverage against NFL size and speed, but his ball skills and explosiveness with the ball in his hand should allow teams to scheme him into explosive opportunities right away. Lamb has the potential to play any of the three receiver positions as a pro and should benefit greatly from the NFL’s continued movement toward college-style passing attacks.”

With a lot of picks in this years draft, the Eagles can afford to get rid of a few picks to acquire Lamb. Getting Carson Wentz a premier talent like Lamb would go a long way.

Sometimes, it’s better for the Eagles, who are a good team, to move up and get a sure fired playmaker. Wide receivers with Lamb’s skill set don’t come around too often.
