Draft Profile: Baylor Wide Receiver Denzel Mims
9 March 2020 DRAFT
Denzel Mims 2020 NFL Draft Profile
Stock up, criticism down. Denzel Mims is quickly flying up draft boards after putting on a show at the 2019 Senior Bowl and continuing to impress at the NFL Combine. He is a physical specimen at 6’3″ 207 who has long arms and is explosive beyong measure at the point of attack for catching or blocking. His route tree was under criticism prior to the Senior Bowl but he regularly ran some of the best routes that week and scouts took notice. His blocking was insanely impressive as well. Mims and Higgins play a very similar game in my opinion. Mims is just more explosive and sudden; however, Higgins is a much better jump ball guy but he may just be the best in the class when you roll back the film. Mims as well as many of these receivers are all day 1 worthy in many eyes; however, a loaded class means that a lot of guys will slide do to the surplus of incredible receivers. Mims is the hot stock right now and someone is definitely going to invest come April.
Measureables: 6’3″ 207 LBs
Arms 33 7/8ths inches

This is why the @seniorbowl is so important. Mims as well as dozens of other prospects who had “question marks” had an unmatched opportunity to showcase their skills and sure things up before the combine. Mims has done everything that has been asked of him and coaches love that https://t.co/MuQO7tGEp6

Demariyus Thomas
Projection: Mid first round to mid second round. His stock has quadrupled since the Senior Bowl
Mims has really improved this offseason after working with David Robinson. From the Senior Bowl to the Combine, he’s really impressed. That’s how you win the offseason and yourself some money https://t.co/F97bJ4k2UP
