Eagles Mock Draft Roundup: Eagles select Oklahoma WR CeeDee Lamb in this recent mock draft

29 January 2020 DRAFT

The overall consensus so far this offseason is that the Philadelphia Eagles are going to take a wide receiver with their first round pick. And, another expert has them doing exactly that in his first mock draft.

NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has the Eagles taking Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb with the 21st pick.

His reasoning:

“Lamb has the ability to play inside or outside and is an instant playmaking option who should help alleviate pressure on Carson Wentz.”

Some people have Lamb graded out as the best wide receiver in the draft this year. If he would fall to 21, the Eagles would be dumb not to add a playmaker like him to their offense.

Lamb was a playmaker and a touchdown scorer while at Oklahoma. In his career he amounted 173 receptions for 3,292 yards and 32 touchdowns in just three seasons. He brings to the field both speed and size, standing at 6’2.

Adding a player like Lamb’s quality most certainly gives Wentz and company a flashy new weapon to play around with. His skill set brings a unique flare to their offense which they haven’t had in a few years.

The Athletic’s Dane Brugler broke down Lamb and his overview really gives you a good idea of what kind of talent he is. Here’s what he had to say.

“ His stats are so impressive, but when you break down that traits, that’s what really stands out,” Brugler said. “It’s a loaded class, but Lamb is at the top for me. He came into the season with a lot of expectations with both QB Kyler Murray and WR Hollywood Brown gone to the NFL. Both were first-round picks last year. Lamb comes back with a new quarterback in Jalen Hurts and even though Hurts was up and down as a passer, CeeDee Lamb exploded. It’s a big part of what he does … He just understands how to manipulate coverage and he has the finishing skills that he can turn small plays into big plays.”

The Eagles would be very smart to acquire Lamb if he fell to them. There’s no saying he’d be there that late, but if he wore to he, they’d have to snatch him up. He’s a player who could easily change their whole offense.
