Draft Profile: South Carolina WR Bryan Edwards

28 January 2020 DRAFT

Bryan Edwards 2020 NFL Draft Profile

Measureables: 6’3″ 215 LBs

Here is another South Carolina WR ready to take his talents to the NFL. Edwards has all of the looks physically at 6’3″ 215 and he is as agile as they come in the open field. There are questions about his toughness while disengaging from DBs, also there are question marks on him not being able to ID the ball early enough on deep balls. He has all of the physical tools to be an NFL WR, but he is not a finished project just yet. With the right fit, a year in the slot or behind a vet, Edwards could transcend to a great talent in the league.

Highlights:

Strengths

  • Size and length;
  • can run the entire route tree;
  • incredible and natural hands;
  • great after the catch

Weaknesses

  • Has trouble releasing;
  • tracking the ball has been an issue;
  • catch radius is not impressive as it should be;
  • may be better suited to be a big slot WR to start his career, but the upside to be a starting X is there

NFL Comparison: Alshon Jeffery but less physical…

Projection: Late 4th to mid 5th round pick
