Eagles Mock Draft Roundup: Eagles land Alabama WR Henry Ruggs III in Daniel Jeremiah’s first mock draft

21 January 2020 DRAFT

The NFL season is over for the Philadelphia Eagles which means it’s officially draft season. And, with the draft season comes a lot of mock drafts and players linked to the Eagles. We’re here to tell you every single one of those players. Let’s cut to the chase. Here are the first few mock drafts of the season.

  1. Vinnie Irver SportingNews.com
  • Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson

Reasoning:

“The Eagles are in desperate need of a big-play threat in Carson Wentz’s receiving corps given DeSean Jackson’s age and a breaking-down Alshon Jeffery. Higgins is a dangerous, all-around playmaker who can be a force in the red zone. At 6-4, 215 pounds, Higgins has posted 59 receptions for 1,167 yards and 13 TDs in 15 games. He also rushed for a 36-yard score against LSU.”

         2. Ryan Wilson CBSSports.com

  •  Alabama CB Xavier McKinney

Reasoning:

“32-year-old safety Malcolm Jenkins would like a new deal and Rodney McLoud could be headed for free agency. The Eagles would love to upgrade the cornerback position but three of the top CBs are already off the board. McKinney is a top-flight safety, and could possibly emerge as the top safety in the class by draft night.”

      3. Tyler Roman NBCSports.com

  • Alabama CB Xavier McKinney

Reasoning:

“It’s no secret that the Eagles had one of the worst secondaries in the league this year, so it would make sense to rectify it this off-season. McKinney is a versatile chess piece for a team that really needs talent on the backend. McKinney can cover the slot and hold his own against the run, he’s the prototypical safety prospect for today’s NFL.”

     4. Dan Kadar SBNation.com

  • Clemson WR Tee Higgins

Reasoning:

“Higgins may have only had three receptions in Monday night’s national title game, but he still profiles as a No. 1 receiver option in the NFL. As the season wore on, it was obvious that the Eagles need weapons on offense. A receiver like Higgins should be the first of a few added in this draft.”

5.  Daniel Jeremiah NFL.com

  • Alabama WR Henry Ruggs III

Reasoning

“Speed! The Eagles are focused on getting faster this offseason, and Ruggs is the most explosive player in the draft.”

Stay tuned to 4thandJawn for all the draft coverage this year, the mock drafts are just ramping up. The next big thing to watch for is the Senior Bowl. We’ll learn about a lot more prospects there.
