Report: Eagles RB Darren Sproles to retire at the end of the season

21 December 2019 Uncategorized

There comes a time in every NFL players career when they know it’s time to hang up the cleats. It’s a tough call, but for running back Darren Sproles, it’s time.

Sproles announced today that he is retiring at the end of the season.

The journeyman running back has a place in NFL history as he ranks fifth in total yards tied with Jerry Rice (19,696). He was a Swiss Army knife, he could do it all, he was the ultimate weapon.

It’s a bittersweet moment for him as recently, the injury bug has plagued him. He’s been out this season since October 6th as he suffered a torn right hip flexor. It’s hard to call it quits when your season ends like that, but for him it was time.

Sproles will be remembered for his electricity. Every time he was on the field and touched the ball, anything could have happened. He had a great career and he’ll definitely be a player the Eagles miss.
