Three things to watch for today vs. Redskins

15 December 2019 Uncategorized

After last weeks come from behind win on Monday Night, how will the Philadelphia Eagles bounce back?

Today, the Eagles are in Washington DC to take on the Redskins. The Redskins are another team who have struggled this season much like the New York Giants. However, in the NFC East, games are never easy. It’s a must win for the Eagles as their playoff chances linger on winning out. When you’re watching today’s game, here’s three things to keep in mind.

1. Which WRs going to step up

Losing Alshon Jeffery to injury; and Nelson Agholor will miss today as well, means someone has to step up. Greg Ward, JJ Archega-Whiteside and Rob Davies are the three who will be responsible for the wide receiver production today. Although they aren’t household names, they’re hungry and play with much more passion than the Eagles wide receivers as of late. It’s a big opportunity for them today.

2. Carson Wentz’s leadership

Last week, Carson Wentz carried the Eagles offense when they were down. Behind him, the Eagles went on and won the game. He’s coming off of back to back 300 + yard games. It’s a must win game and the Eagles need their franchise quarterback to continue to thrive both on the field as a player and leader.

3. Get back to hitting the quarterback

Last week, the Giants got the ball out quickly, meaning, the Eagles defensive line couldn’t get any pressure. With a secondary as vulnerable as the Eagles’, their defensive line needs to have a presence. Missing Derek Barnett, Vinny Curry and Josh Sweat need to step up again. They both had good games last week and the Eagles need to see that urgency again.
