Three things to watch tonight vs. Giants
9 December 2019 Uncategorized
It’s time for the Eagles to get back on track tonight with a win. In a rainy Philadelphia night, the 5-7 Eagles are taking on a 2-10 New York Giants team looking to spoil the party. For the Eagles to win, here’s three things that need to happen.
1. Give Miles Sanders a chance to make a play or two
The rookie running back is having a good year and he’s only getting a chance here and there. Last week he produced 83 rushing yards on 17 carries and five receptions for 22 yards and a touchdown. However, he was practically abandoned in the second half. Tonight, let him carry the load and he’ll break off a few big plays. Behind his playmaking ability, the Eagles can win.
2. Suffocate Saquon Barkley
The Giants and Barkley are only running for on average 96 yards per game. Barkley him hasn’t had a big day on the ground ever since his injury. In a sloppy game, running is going to be prevalent. Not allowing them any running success will make things even harder for Eli Manning who’s playing in his first game since September.
3. Score, Score, Score
The Giants are allowing over 27 points to opposing teams per game. Teams on average are putting up over 372 yards against them as well. It’s time for the Eagles to just dominate the game from the get go and give the Giants no chance. Yes, it’s a sloppy game, but the Eagles should have all the chances to put this game away early.
At the end of the day, this game should be a confidence builder for an Eagles team trying to make a playoff run. Anything is possible, but the Eagles need to make sure they don’t make this any harder than it is. A team wanting to make the playoffs should easily beat a 2-10 team. Hopefully that’s what happens tonight!
