Instant Analysis: Eagles suffer brutal loss to Dolphins, fall to 5-7 on the season

1 December 2019 Uncategorized

As if the Philadelphia Eagles season couldn’t get an worse, todays loss to the Miami Dolphins has added fuel to the fire. The fire, which is the Eagles season is rising and as it grows, their chances of the playoffs goes with it.

The Dolphins were down 28-14 to the Eagles in the third quarter and scored 23 unanswered to take a 37-28 lead. That lead proved too much for the Eagles as they fell 37-31. The Eagles looked unprepared for the Dolphins offensive attack as their defense had no answer at all for the Dolphins.

On a day where the offense played good football, they were let down by a defense which leaked yards and a kicker who missed a 48 yard field goal which would have made things a little easier .

Quarterback Carson Wentz threw for 310 yards and three touchdowns with one interception on a last second hail marry. Wide receiver Alshon Jeffery was his favorite target catching nine passes for 137 yards and one touchdown.

Running back Miles Sanders started off the game real well but fell victim to the Eagles chasing the game. He finished the game rushing for 83 yards on 17 carries.

Today’s game started off great for the Eagles and ended up terribly. The Eagles weren’t ready for the Dolphins which is sad to say. All year they’ve looked out coached and unprepared.

We should have known a Ryan Fitzpatrick masterclass was incoming. He threw for 365 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver DeVante Parker did whatever he wanted to the Eagles secondary catching seven passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns. The Dolphins offensively did whatever they wanted to the Eagles and it was discouraging to watch.

And, it’s sad to say the Eagles are still in the hunt for the NFC East as the division has been awful. There’s still football games to be won, but with the Eagles yet to turn in one complete performance, their chances seem slim.

Up next for the Eagles is a matchup versus the New York Giants. Hopefully they’ll get back on track.
