Injury Update: Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery misses second straight practice with ankle injury

14 November 2019 Uncategorized

With the Philadelphia Eagles’ showdown versus the New England Patriots on the horizon, one of their “better” wide receivers is not practicing.

The Eagles are coming off of a bye week where usually, your team gets back to health. However, after playing before the bye week against the Chicago Bears, wide receiver Alshon Jeffery has missed practice this week with an ankle injury.

With the number one defense coming to town, you’d like to play them with all your available weapons. But, being that it’s Thursday and Jeffery isn’t practicing, that doesn’t seem likely anymore.

Jeffery isn’t having a big year by any means but him being on the field opens the door for any other wide receiver to have softer coverage. Again, with that Patriots in town, all their cornerbacks are good.

This just means one thing, Nelson Agholor, Mack Hollins, J.J Archega-Whiteside and newly signed Jordan Matthews need to step up. When a play comes their way, there’s no time for excuses, that play needs to be made.

Could we still see Jeffery in a limited role Sunday, it’s possible. But, it’s looking like he’ll sit this one out. It’s time for the others to step up.
