Eagles bringing in WR Jordan Matthews for a physical, is he coming back for the third time?

When times are desperate, sometimes you turn to old reliable. The same could be said about the Philadelphia Eagles and their search for another wide receiver in wake of DeSean Jackson’s surgery.

Per Jimmy Kempski, the Eagles are bringing in wide receiver Jordan Matthews for a physical and visit.

Matthews is very familiar with the Eagles obviously. Last season, Matthews not only scored a 30 + yard touchdown in the playoffs with the Saints, he also finished the season with 20 receptions, 300 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games with the two including three starts.

He’s not a speed wide receiver, but he knows the system, is Carson Wentz’s buddy and can have some sort of production. At this point, it’s not going to hurt the Eagles bringing him in for the rest of the season.

For him, it’s a chance to continue playing the game he loves and in the city he loves. In a way Matthews has been done a little dirty by the Eagles, he has potential to be a good wide receiver, he just hasn’t been able to really settle in anywhere. This could be another good chance for him.
