Roster Move: Eagles release DT Akeem Spence, sign DT Anthony Rush from Raiders practice squad

21 October 2019 Uncategorized

Another roster move happened today in addition to the cornerback Orlando Scandrick release. This time, the Philadelphia Eagles released defensive tackle Akeem Spence to make room for Raiders practice squad defensive tackle Anthony Rush.

Oddly enough, Rush has made his way back to Philadelphia after being released in July. He was cut in order to make room for Scandrick who was released today.

Rush led the Raiders in tackles during the preseason with 11. At most, he’s a young player who’s there to play his hardest every day. He’s a cheap player and one they hope will develop.

As for Spence, his time with the Eagles had been very disappointing. Following the loss of Malik Jackson, Spence was brought in as a rotational defensive tackle. However, he’s struggled and didn’t give the Eagles much of anything.

This move speaks greatly about cutting out the dead weight. You might as well as this point try to develop a young hungry player rather than a veteran.
