Its Andre Dillard time, rookie left tackle to start vs. Dallas

16 October 2019 Uncategorized

This Sunday Night, the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Dallas Cowboys in a big divisional game. And, in that game, one player will be getting his first start.

When left tackle Jason Peters exited last Sunday with a knee injury. Rookie tackle Andre Dillard was forced to step up. He’ll be asked to do so again this Sunday as he’ll start at left tackle.

He came into a tough game and was it perfect? No. However, he showed enough where you left the game content with his development and the progress he’s already shown. In fact, here’s what Head Coach Doug Pederson said about his performance.

“We have to do some technique work with him still some more. Just a young player in that atmosphere, but I thought overall, he did some really good things.”

And, in terms of who he’ll be facing, Cowboys defensive end Tyrone Crawford is out of the game, so that helps Dillard’s cause. It’s possible they’ll move Demarcus Lawrence around, however the moral of the story is here, he’ll be fine.

Here’s to hoping Dillard takes another step this Sunday night and behind him and the offensive line, the Eagles dominate the game.
