Sidney Jones expected to play Sunday

11 October 2019 Uncategorized

The Eagles got some positive news on the injury front. According to Mike Kaye of NJ.com, Sidney Jones is expected to play this Sunday.

Sidney missed last week’s game against the Jets, after injuring his hamstring in the previous week’s game against the Packers. The injury wasn’t too serious, as Jones was active for the game. It was more of a precautionary measure, as we’re very thin at the cornerback position and needed to make sure we had enough bodies. He did not end up being needed, though.

Reported by Dave Uram of WIP Radio, Doug was quoted on Tuesday saying “sometimes you have to just push through that threshold”, about Jones. This is Jones third season but he has only played nine games in full. The Eagles have been very patient with him but they really need him to stay healthy, as they deal with all of the injuries at the cornerback position. The Eagles currently only have five healthy cornerbacks, including Jones. The other four cornerbacks are Rasul Douglas, Craig James, Ryan Lewis and Orlando Scandrick. Ronald Darby (hamstring) and Avonte Maddox (neck/concussion) are still dealing with their respective injuries. The Eagles also have cornerback Ajene Harris on their practice squad.
