Bold Predictions: Five things that could happen tonight vs. Packers

26 September 2019 Uncategorized

Tonight, the Eagles are on the road against the Green Bay Packers. It’s a short week and with that said, both teams are not going to be as sharp as usual. For the Eagles it’s an important game because with a win, they’ll be back to .500.

With all that being said, there’s going to be some good and some bad things that go on tonight. For tonight’s game, here’s five bold predictions.

  1. The Eagles finally run the ball

Through three games, the Eagles ground game has been subpar. At times, it’s looked awful, there’s no sugar coating it. The coaching staff knows it and with an offensive line that should be as good as the Eagles’, it’s time to show it. Defensively, the Packers have been very tough. However, their run defense has struggled, ranking 25th in the league. On average, they allow 131 yards per game. Tonight, the Eagles need to get their run game going and they will.

          2. Jordan Howard rushes for 80 yards +

The former Chicago Bear is use to running against the Packers. Knowing what we know about the Packers run defense, tonight’s the night Howard gets his stay in Philadelphia going. Prior, Howard’s best run total has been just 44 yards in week one. The Eagles need to feed him and get him going and tonight they’ll see that reap the benefits. He’s in for a big game.

          3. The defensive line gets four sacks

With a defensive line as good as the Eagles, this doesn’t seem too bold. However, the Eagles haven’t registered one sack this season. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is sacked around twice a game on average this season. There’s going to be a lot of opportunities for the Eagles defensive line to get to the quarterback. They’ve been getting their just not getting the sack, that’ll change today.

           4.  Carson Wentz throws for three touchdowns

With the run game going, Wentz’s job will be a lot easier. And much to his liking, Wentz has one of his top weapons, Alshon Jeffery, back tonight. There’s going to be opportunities for Wentz with the play action and opportunity for him to improvise. The Packers do have a good defense but without a full week to prepare, they’ll be at Wentz’s mercy.

        5. Eagles win on Thursday night

We know the defensive lines going to get pressure, the run game is going to get going and Wentz is going to finish off those drives. With that being known. Eagles are going to Green Bay 1-2 and leaving 2-2. Eagles win 24-21.
