Report: Eagles one of the team in the mix for CB Jalen Ramsey,

19 September 2019 Uncategorized

It’s been known for a few days that the Jacksonville Jaguars are now shopping cornerback Jalen Ramsey after he requested a trade.

Now, the Eagles have been linked heavily to Ramsey and are said to be doing their due diligence. NFL insider  Mike Garafolo said this about the matter, “The more I talk to people, the more I think the #Eagles interest in Jalen Ramsey is legit.”

Now, we’ve also had Sports Illustrated’s Peter King say his gut feeling has the Eagles landing Ramsey for a 2020 first round pick, 20’ third round pick and cornerback Sidney Jones. The benefit of adding Ramsey to the Eagles roster will definitely show its worth on the field.

For one, the Eagles have been torched this season, primarily in the secondary. They have the 31st ranked passing defense, allowing 340 yards against a game. The Eagles have others problems of course, but their cornerbacks have still been beaten too easily on big plays and in big spots this season.

Now, there’s complications with a move for Ramsey, he’s looking for a big deal. Is he worth a big contract, yes. However, in the Eagles current cap situation it’ll be hard for them to do. But, if there’s one thing we’ve learned, Howie Roseman can do it.

So, should the Eagles trade for Ramsey? Yes. He’d lock up one side of the field completely. He’s a player the Eagles haven’t had on the field for a while. They’ve been looking for a player like him for years and now he’s available.
