Injury Update: Eagles expected to lose DT Tim Jernigan for 4-6 weeks after he broke his foot last night vs. Falcons

Injuries were a common theme of last nights game and today the Eagles got some decent news regarding one of them.

Per ProFootBallTalk, defensive tackle Tim Jernigan broke his foot in last night’s game. He was seen with a walking boot post game. Thankfully, the injury doesn’t require surgery and he’ll be back in around 4 to 6 weeks.

For the Eagles this news still is not the best as they just lost defensive tackle Malik Jackson for the whole season. To fill his shoes, they signed Akeem Spence who saw a lot of action yesterday. They’re going to need to add another defensive tackle after this short loss.

Jernigan is a key player on that defensive line, especially now. Getting him back in around a month is not the end of the world. If the Eagles are to make a run, they’re going to need their defensive line at full strength and that includes Jernigan.

For now, they’ll have to go without him as they prepare to take on the Detroit Lions. Fletcher Cox and Akeem Spence will draw the starts, but expect the Eagles to bring in another face.
