Roster Move: Eagles reportedly sign DT Akeem Spence to a one year deal

10 September 2019 Uncategorized

The Eagles were put into a pickle today after finding out defensive tackle Malik Jackson would miss the rest of the season with a lisfranc injury. To fix the issue, the Eagles needed to bring in a new face.

And, that’s what they did. The Eagles have reportedly signed defensive tackle Akeem Spence to a one year deal.

Spence is a veteran in the NFL who brings a lot of experience to the Eagles. He’s started 57 career games, racking up 10.5 sacks. Most notably, he played all 16 games for the Miami Dolphins last season.

Eagles defensive special assistant Matt Burke was the defensive coordinator with the Dolphins, meaning he’s familiar with Spence and can get the best out of him. Adding a player who the Eagles know they can get quality snaps out of and adding to this rotation was really important. They got a good player in Spence.
