Three things to know following day 2 of Eagles training camp

26 July 2019 Uncategorized

On the second day of Philadelphia Eagles training camp head coach Doug Pederson told the team, get your shells on, we’re running team drills. Yes, the Eagles ran team drills for the first time this training camp. It was a more eventful day of practice and some players put on a show. After today’s practice here’s three things you need to know.

  1. Cre’Von LeBlanc isn’t getting traded

The only absence today at practice was LeBlanc. With that came speculation that he was potentially getting traded as usually players are held out of practice if they’re being moved. However, defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz spoke to the media and said his absence was “injury related.” He’s getting tests on it, so as of now, we don’t know how significant his injury is.

LeBlanc was the best Eagles cornerback in the playoffs, let alone the best cornerback in the NFL playoffs. Moving him wouldn’t make sense, the Eagles should look into moving someone else if they are to move a cornerback.

        2. Wentz is sharp

For his first time doing 7 on 7 drills this training camp, it was his first test. How good is Wentz at this point already? He proved us all right, he was sharp and on point. He completed every pass to a multitude of pass catchers. He’s a man on a mission this season and the revenge tour is real.

Wentz looks really good right now, especially his connection with DeSean Jackson. If things go to plan, the Eagles offense is going to be really deadly this season.

             3. Josh Sweat breakout season?

Today, Sweat was in the limelight as he noticeably got bigger in size. He gained 20 pounds of muscle and he’s been healthy now for awhile. And, to make this story juicier, Sweat said this. “  it didn’t matter that Michael Bennett or Chris Long decided not to come back because he was coming for them and their playing time even if they returned.” The Eagles could really use extra help on the outside and rushing the passer. Having Sweat breakout would be a great thing for the Eagles.

It’s only day two and the Eagles and their training camp is filled with great stories. This season is going to be really fun so make sure you stay tuned.
