Three Things to Know following Day 1 of Eagles Training Camp

25 July 2019 Uncategorized

The first day of Eagles training camp is officially in the books. It was a bit of an anti climatic day as the team had a very light practice as they’re just getting in the swing of things. However, with that being said, there were still a bunch of big storylines to follow today. Without further ado, here’s the three things you should know following today’s practice.

  1. The team is healthy

Yes, every team should be healthy before any football contact, but for the Eagles, that wasn’t the case. They’re a team that suffered a ton of offseason surgeries that coincided with a lot of their season ending injuries. But today, just one player was put on the PUP list (Jalen Mills), meaning the rest were ready to go. This is a very encouraging sign.

  1. Brandon Brooks is a freak

To go along with point one, Brooks suffered a season ending injury during the Eagles playoff game against the New Orleans Saints. He ruptured his Achilles’ tendon, which is a severe injury. To everyone’s surprise he’s back on the field in just six months. Sure, maybe he’ll be held back a little but as he gets back into things but him being this ahead of schedule is not only encouraging, but remarkable.

  1. Carson Wentz’s Revenge Tour has officially begun

He broke down the huddle to kick off practice, he looked better than ever in terms of movement and agility, he threw darts and just looked like the MVP we all know he is. Wentz spoke afterwards and said he’s leaner than before and is ready to go. The Eagles are going to monitor him a bit but for the most part he’s ready….. but is the NFL ready for him?

Tune in tomorrow for the next installment of three things to know!
