Report: Eagles VP of player personnel Joe Douglas to interview for Jets GM job this weekend

29 May 2019 Uncategorized

When you’re a successful team, other NFL teams looks to replicate you. With the news of the New York Jets firing their general manager a week or so ago, an immediate opening was created. And, the most popular solution seemed to be the Eagles Vice President of player personnel Joe Douglas.

Now, it’s being reported that the Jets are interviewing Douglas this weekend for their general manger opening.

Douglas has worked with the Jets new head coach Adam Gase before, and it’s said they have a good relationship. Building a roster and being on the same page while doing so is key, so having a positive previous relationship bolds well in the Jets favor if this relationship is to happen again.

Losing Douglas would be a blow for the Eagles front office and scouting, however, they’ll be able to rebound. He’s really helped the Eagles build a very strong roster. However, the core of the Eagles and their ideals will stay strong, which makes this loss not as bad as many may think.

There’s no saying if he’s definitely moving to New York. The chance to become a general manager is going to tempt him, we’ll find out if he takes it this weekend.
