Rate this Mock Draft: Eagles add Alabama RB Josh Jacobs in Lance Zierlein’s latest mock

21 March 2019 Uncategorized

Although the Eagles have not added a running back yet, in this recent mock draft, that’s exactly what the Eagles do.

Lance Zierlein of NFL.com has the Eagles taking Alabama running back Josh Jacobs with their first round pick. His reasoning is below.

“The Eagles have been taking a piecemeal approach at the running back position for a few years now, but Jacobs would give them a three-down back with limited tread off the tires and a legitimate talent as a pass-catch.”

Jacobs has 640 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns to go with 247 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He was very productive considering he was in a rotational role with the team, sharing the backfield. He’s been described as the best running back in the draft as his potential is very high.

Without a true bell-cow running back on the roster, drafting Jacobs makes a lot of sense for the Eagles. He adds that to the team as well as a threat catching the ball. He’d slot right in as the Eagles starting running back with Corey Clement as the Eagles third down back.
