Eagles to hang on to WR Nelson Agholor for now

13 March 2019 Uncategorized

The Philadelphia Eagles are going to keep wide receiver Nelson Agholor next season on his contract option which is for one year, $9.4 million.

Per Tim McManus, this news is true and he also states, no new deal and extension are imminent.

Keeping Agholor is the right call and it’s a continued pattern of the Eagles trying to keep all of their homegrown players. Yes, his deal could be thought of as pricey, however, he could do some damage. He’s been averaging around 800 yards the past two seasons, to go with eight touchdowns in 2017 and four touchdowns in 2018. Pairing him up in the slot with newly acquired wide receiver DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery outside gives the Eagles are very dynamic trio. Not to mention Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert too.

Making room for Agholor on the roster keeps a plethora of weapons for quarterback Carson Wentz. You could never have enough weapons to throw to. And, the Eagles have made sure their is no shortage at that department.

There is no say what the future holds for Agholor. But, he’s a very dynamic playmaker and has a diverse skill set. There is money to be made for him as we’ve seen the likes of Cole Beasley and Adam Humphries get paid this offseason. But, I digress, for now Agholor is in the midnight green for atleast one more season and he’s going to feast.
