Eagles continue to secure the trenches, sign OL Isaac Seumalo to a three year extension

4 March 2019 Uncategorized

The Eagles keep on doing good to their home grown players as they have secured offensive lineman Isaac Seumalo through 2022.

Seumalo and the Eagles have agreed terms to a three year contract extension. There’s no numbers yet on what his salary and cap hit will be, however, being that this move was done now, there has to be some sort of discount.

Seumalo by no means is a stud right now, but his greatest asset is his versatility. He’s able to play everywhere on the offensive line and that’s why he’s valuable. He’s proven to be a solid starter at times and still has a lot of room to develop.

What this move shows us and what the Eagles continue to show us is not only are they committed to treating their own right, they are committed to keeping the interior and core of the team stable. First Jason Kelce and now Seumalo, the offensive line is all signed up and ready with the exception of left tackle with Jason Peters.

It’s not a shocking, wow me move by the team by it’s all about the bigger picture. Securing the men protecting the franchise quarterback is a big priority for the Eagles and they’re continuing to prove the statement to be right.
